Wander and Wonder with Us

I invite you to join us as we wander through forests, fields, gardens, and other wild spaces, paying attention to the seasonal changes unfolding around us.

Phenology is the practice of observing the timing of events in the natural world—the first spring wildflowers, the arrival of migrating birds, the emergence of insects, the ripening of berries, or the changing colors of autumn leaves. By noticing and recording these changes, we begin to recognize the rhythms and relationships that connect plants, wildlife, weather, and place.

Here, we’ll share seasonal observations and discoveries from the places we explore, along with ideas for making your own observations wherever you call home. My hope is that these entries encourage you to slow down, pay attention, wander, wonder, and become more deeply acquainted with the Land around you.
